As a teacher, I often need to transfer photos and videos to and from my Ipad and other digital recorders. In the moving video workshop, I learnt about moving videos from Smartphone, Ipad, Android tablet and digital camera to PC and Mac respectively.
From my perspective, videos and photos carry more information to the classrooms and help providing incredible meaning-building cues especially to lower graders and lower level second language learners. The imovie will enable me use videos in my language teaching class effectively. In order to lead a book reading program, I would like to edit some movie clips about necessary background information of a specific book, adding title and sound to help students understand the storyline and key concepts. Instead of exporting the video directly to a number of devices and carrying them with me, which inevitably occupy a lot of space and time, now I can simply share the video via Email or upload the video to YouTube.
I also find the MediaSpace, which we can use at no cost an awesome technological tool. The MediaSpace facilitates the conversion and distribution of various media formats therefore I could optimize and transcode my future video with Mediaspace which provides me with not only the link of my video to share with my students and their parents but also the embed code to incorporate the video to my website. Adding video to my website would be beneficial for my students because they will watch it as an important reference resource for our class content and a potentially helper to bridge the gap between home literacy and school reading materials.
